If you're new to Simplifyd WAN Edge, this section provides a high-level overview of the core components that make up the platform.

Simplifyd WAN Edge Appliance

The Simplifyd WAN Edge appliance is the on-premises device that connects a customer’s physical location—such as a branch office, data center, or headquarters—to the Simplifyd WAN Edge Cloud.

It establishes tunnels to the nearest Simplifyd WAN Edge PoP using available WAN or Internet connections (broadband, fiber, satellite, LTE, etc.).

Key Capabilities

• Acts as the secure site gateway into the Simplifyd WAN Edge Cloud
• Provides full LAN-level firewall features, including:
  • Inbound/outbound access enforcement
  • Local network segmentation
  • East-west traffic protection
• Supports application-aware routing, traffic optimization, and HA configurations
• Centrally managed through the Simplifyd WAN Edge Cloud console
• Available in hardware and virtual form factors for flexible deployment

Simplifyd WAN Edge Cloud Management Console

The Simplifyd WAN Edge Cloud management console is a centralized, cloud-hosted interface for configuring, monitoring, and managing your entire WAN Edge deployment.

• Unified management for sites, users, devices, and policies
• Real-time visibility into:
  • Traffic and application flows
  • Threats and security events
  • System health and performance
• Role-based access control (RBAC) and full audit logging
• Automation tools for large-scale operations

Simplifyd WAN Edge Remote Client

The Simplifyd WAN Edge Remote Client is a lightweight software agent that securely connects remote or mobile users to the nearest Simplifyd WAN Edge PoP.

Available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and Chromebook, it creates a secure, stable tunnel to the WAN Edge Cloud.

Key Capabilities

• Enforces the same security and traffic policies applied to on-site users
• Includes NGFW, threat protection, application control, and traffic optimization
• Seamless roaming and automatic reconnection
• Supports SSO integrations for a consistent identity experience

Simplifyd WAN Edge Cloud

The Simplifyd WAN Edge Cloud is a cloud-native platform that merges networking and security into a unified SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) architecture.

Delivered through a private global backbone and distributed PoPs, it ensures high-speed, low-latency access for all enterprise resources.
